• -Can you tell us the state of specialists in this area? Don’t you have the problem of quality concerning your trainers?

-The problem of specialists exists in all the types of sport, but our purpose is to prepare children since very childhood. If you can give the child right knowledge, he will grow up and become the specialist you want. The fact that we have Europe and World championship winners means, that our trainers are specialized enough.

    • -It means you try to solve the problem of specialists just inside the federation?

-The main knowledge is given by the trainers, who train in our federation. We often receive seminar invitations from international organizations. You cannot teach without seminars, traditional karate is a kind of martial arts, that only by training in the dojo you will never have any success, you need deep knowledge. During the seminars we usually have qualification exams, which also talks about the level of our trainers’ and athletes’ specialization.

    • -You have been working as a trainer since 1991. What results have you reached so far?

-Yes, mainly training work. We have athletes, who are champions in World and European tournaments, many champions in Russian tournaments, we have prepared about 600-700 black belt athletes. Our athletes are going still to take part in international championships, where they will represent our country.

    • -Compared with South-Caucasian countries, how would you evaluate the level of karate in our country?

-I can claim that we don’t concede Caucasian countries in any aspect. If we are able to bring victories from World and European championships, I think, we will not face any problem in Caucasian tournaments, too. These are not just words, but a hard work and experience of long years. We have athletes, who gave started in our federation, but unfortunately they are abroad now, represent other countries, but the basis was our federation.
